BARTOLOMEO

AMMANATI (1511-1592)  , Florentine architect and sculptor . He studied under Bandinelli and Jacopo Sansovino, and closely imitated the style of Michelangelo . He was more distinguished in architecture than in sculpture . He de-signed many buildings in Rome, Lucca and Florence, an addition to the Pitti Palace in the last-named city being one of his most celebrated
