BOETHUS , a sculptor of the Hellenistic See also:age, a native of See also:Carthage (or possibly See also:Chalcedon) . His date cannot be accurately fixed, but was probably the 2nd See also:century B.C . He was noted for his representations of See also:children, in dealing with whom earlier See also:Greek See also:art had not been very successful; and especially for a See also:group representing a boy struggling with a See also:goose, of which several copies survive in museums . |
