Their See also:country was See also:Pennsylvania and See also:Maryland on the See also:lower Susquehanna See also:river and at the See also:head of Chesapeake See also:bay . They were sometimes known as Susquehannas . They were formerly a powerful See also:people, able to resist the attacks of the See also:Iroquois . In 1675, however, the latter overwhelmed and scattered them . After nearly a See also:century of wandering, the tribe suffered final extinction in the See also:Indian See also:wars of 1763 .
