CUNITZ (c. 1610-1664)  , Silesian astronomer, was the eldest daughter of Dr Heinrich See also:Cunitz of Schweinitz, and the wife (163o) of Dr See also:Elias von Loven, of Pitschen in See also:Silesia—both of them men of learning and distinction . From her universal accomplishments she was called the " Silesian See also:Pallas," and the publication of her See also:work, Urania propitia (Gels, 165o), a simplification of the Rudolphine Tables, gained her a See also:European reputation . It was composed at the See also:village of Lugnitz, See also:close by the See also:convent of Olobok (See also:Posen), where, with her See also:husband, she had taken See also:refuge at the outbreak of the See also:Thirty Years' See also:War, and was dedicated to the See also:emperor See also:Frederick III .
