Click Language
A language in which ‘click’ sounds are a systematic part of the consonant system, as in such African languages as Zulu and Xhosa. Clicks are produced by an air-stream which begins at the back of the mouth, and typically involve the kind of sounds made when ‘tut-tutting’, or in ‘gee-upping’ a horse.
