Clive W J Granger Biography (1934– )
Economist, born in Swansea, SC Wales, UK. He studied at Nottingham University, gaining his PhD in 1959, and later joined the University of California at San Diego, USA. In 2003 he shared the Nobel Prize for Economics with Robert F Engle for their work on using statistics to predict the future. Granger's contribution involved study of methods of analysing economic time series with common trends (cointegration).
