Vitaly L Ginzburg Biography (1916– )
Physicist, born in Moscow, Russia. He studied at Moscow State University (1938–42), and in 1940 joined the P N Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. In 2003 he shared the Nobel Prize for Physics with Alexei A Abrikosov and Anthony J Leggett for their pioneering contributions to the theory of superconductors and superfluids.
