Vittorio Ambrosio Biography (1879–1958)

Italian general, born in Turin, Piedmont, NW Italy. During World War 2 he was the Italian army's chief-of-staff (1942), and general chief-of-staff (1943). He played an important part in the coup that removed Mussolini from office on 25 July 1943, and in the September armistice.
