Visual Display Unit (VDU)

The screen attached to a computer. Most VDUs are based on cathode-ray-tube technology similar to that used in television sets, and both single colour and full colour versions are used. An increasing number of VDUs are being based on liquid crystal displays, particularly in portable computer applications.
