Gradually he devoted his See also: attention chiefly to See also: Oriental See also: languages, which he studied in Vienna and See also: Paris

•In 1832 he became professor at the Fiirstenschule of St Afra in See also: Meissen, but See also: ill-See also: health compelled him to resign that office in 1850, and in 1851 he went to Vienna, where he was employed in cataloguing the Arabic, See also: Turkish and Persian See also: manuscripts of the See also: court library
.
He died at See also: Dresden on the 5th of See also: July 1870

Flugel's chief See also: work is an edition of the See also: bibliographical and encyclopaedic See also: lexicon of Haji Khalfa, with Latin See also: translation (7 vols., See also: London and Leipzig, 1835–1858)

He also brought out an edition of the See also: Koran (Leipzig, 1834 and again 1893) ; then followed Concordantiae Corani arabicae (Leipzig, 1842 and again 1898) ; Mani, See also: seine Lehren and seine Schriften (Leipzig, 1862) ; Die grammatischen Schulen der Araber (Leipzig, 1862) ; and See also: Ibn Kutltlbugas Krone der Lebensbeschreibungen (Leipzig, 1862)
