Later he joined the See also:band of adventurers which under Georg Hohermuth, or See also:George of See also:Spires, sailed to See also:Venezuela, or Venosala as Hutten calls it, with the See also:object of conquering and exploiting this See also:land in the interests of the See also:Augsburg See also:family of Weiser . The party landed at See also:Coro in See also:February 1535 and Hutten accompanied Hohermuth on his See also:long and toilsome expedition into the interior in See also:search of treasure . After the See also:death of Hohermuth in See also:December 1540 he became See also:captain-See also:general of Venezuela . Soon after this event he vanished into the interior, returning after five years of wandering to find that a Spaniard, Juan de Caravazil, or Caravajil, had been appointed See also:governor in his See also:absence . With his travelling See also:companion, See also:Bartholomew See also:Welser the younger, he was seized by Caravazil in See also:April 1546 and the two were afterwards put to death . Hutten See also:left some letters, and also a narrative of the earlier See also:part of his adventures, this Zeitung aus See also:India Junkher Philipps von Hutten being published in 1785 .
