hi my name is Girish Desai.I would like to add some more information.i lived in this place for more than 10 years. this is one of the nice places to live. maharaja patwardhan has built a beautiful palace on the hill. The town ship is built on hill the and palace is built in jaipur style and has modern amenities like modern bath tubs, wash basin, swimming pool, lift, beatifully landscaped gardens. ath tubs and wash basins are imported from england. Jamkhandi has a special place in indian history.jamkhandi state is the first state to join india, after the indipendence. now the palace and the colony is in controversy b'cause few local citizens have filed a petition. the case is in the court.they argue that they bought the palace from maharaja.
Hi Girish, I am from the same place. I would like to add more information about the palace. The palace is now partly converted to a residential school.

hi, my name is vijaykumar,i am from jamkhandi, this is an unfortunate that some local citizen bhought this palace.this palace is a symbol and prid of our jamkhandi, now its governments duty to take care of this historical place...........
hi vijaykumar, why you feel unfortunate of local residents buying the palace.. never put a comment like this before knowing the actual facts. its good that some local residents took over the palace rather than outsider and you must have said these words.,because of the condition of the palace is right now..but to tell you,, it was in ligitation of court for a long time..which made local residents not to put their money for Maintainance purposes.. Regards Suprit M
