rail . Pop . (1901), 38,888, showing a continuous decrease since 1881 . Kamptee was founded in 1821, as a military cantonment in the neighbourhood of the native capital of Nagpur, and became an important centre of trade . Since the opening of the railway, trade has largely been diverted to Nagpur, and the garrison has recently been reduced . The town is well laid out with wide roads, gardens and tanks .

still kamptee is known for the Sports. Football is the common famous game all over India by its people. There is also a reason of familier i.e. Doctors from Urdu Medium schools (M.M. Rabbani High School And Junior College) Provide their services around the world with specialities, Engineers and scientist also as like sports persons. Kamptee is known for the literature also.
Kamptee, which was very fondly remembered post division of the state of mumbai was part of the Mandhya Pradesh, and hence largley people speak Urdu and Hindi. with recent polarisation and politics the place has been getting influenced by the Marathi culture, and hence the transformation is from Kamptee (English) to Kamthi (Marathi).The people here are very religious and are very freindly and are very good in hospitality. Earlier there were many Handlooms but have now almost vanished. The weavers community have shifted there time honoured occupation to other trades. The community has worked hard in getting there wards and children study and have moved to various position not only in india but in other part of the world as well.Mr. Yousuf Jamal is in USA, Mr. Abid Kamal Ansari ia a engineer with Ispat in Mumbai, Mr. Mohd. Javed is a Professor at NIFT (NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY) is a graduate from a premier institution like NID-National Insitute of Design, Ahmedabad. Dr. Mehmood Rashid is well known pathologist and is still serving Kamptee, Mr. Rizwan-us-sayeed is a a engineer with WCL, Mr. Furquan is a Engineer with MSEB, Mr. Tafazzul Jamal is in Behrain and is pharmacist his brothers have settled elsewhere in abroad and are in a good position.Dr. Kahlil is well know cardiologist is a alumni of M. M. Rabbani Junior College, Mr. Mohd. Shareef is an advocate and have been practising the law very effectivley since years. All this gives a feeling of modernity and yet very carefully knitted family.

i have born and brought up in kamptee till my graduation in hotel mgt.i have been in mumbai from couple of years.the city where i lived my youth is unforgettable.i have studied from central school.it was a great school with great teachers which has transformed my life to a good personality.apart from it city is famous for football,hockey also.but this is the time when kamptee can work for its best to achieve the business destination since it has got immense possibilities to tap the potential.satish gautham

i have born in kamptee(Lala oli) till my education & ch-hood in all olis.i have been in Pune from 2005.the city where i lived my youth is unforgettable.kamptee is famous for Rabadi(Hatya Maharaj) & i love kamptee Kauuuuuuuuuu.
Good article. My father's side family (Kuril-Bhagat) belongs to Kamptee, having my father spent his childhood in the town. This is one of the oldest family in the town.
