JAN See also:KUBELIK (188o– )  , Bohemian violinist, was See also:born near See also:Prague, of humble parentage . He learnt the See also:violin from childhood, and appeared in public at Prague in 1888, subsequently being trained at the Conservatorium by the famous teacher Ottakar Sevcik . From him he learnt an extraordinary technique, and from 1898 onwards his See also:genius was acclaimed at concerts throughout See also:Europe . He first appeared in See also:London in 1900, and in See also:America in 1901, creating a furore everywhere . In 1903 he married the Countess Czaky Szell .
