See also:Bunsen) and Breslau, graduating at the latter university in 1859 . Turning his See also:attention to technical See also:chemistry, he became chemist at several See also:works both in See also:Germany and See also:England, and in 1876 he was appointed See also:professor of technicalchemistry at See also:Zurich See also:polytechnic . See also:Lunge's See also:original contributions See also:cover a very wide See also:field, dealing both with technical processes and See also:analysis . In addition, he was a voluminous writer, enriching scientific literature with many See also:standard works . His See also:treatises See also:Coal See also:Tar and See also:Ammonia (5th ed . 1909; rst ed . 1867), Destillation See also:des Steinkohlentheers) and Sulphuric See also:Acid and See also:Alkali (1st ed . 1878, 4th ed . 1909), established his position as the highest authority on these subjects, while the Chemische-technische Untersuchungs-Methoden (1899-1900; Eng. trans.), to which he contributed, testified to his researches in technical analysis .
