When Capo d'Istria was murdered in 1831 See also:Metaxas became a member of the provisional See also:government which held See also:office till the See also:accession of See also:King See also:Otho in 1833 . During the minority of Otho he was named privy councillor and minister at See also:Madrid and See also:Lisbon . In 184o he was recalled and appointed minister of war . In 1843-1844 he was See also:president of the See also:council of ministers, and he subsequently held the See also:post of See also:ambassador at See also:Constantinople from 185o to 1854 . He died at See also:Athens on the 19th of See also:September 186o .
