village and the county-seat of Chenango county, New York, U.S.A., on the Chenango river, 42 M . N.E. of Binghamton . Pop . (1910 census), 7422 . It is served by the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western and the New York, Ontario & Western railways . The village has three parks, two libraries—the Guernsey Memorial Library and the D . L . Follett Memorial Law Library—and the Chenango Valley Home for Aged Women . Norwich is in a dairying and farming region, where hops especially are grown; and there are bluestone quarries in the vicinity .
