He was for three years a member of the London School Board . His See also:scheme for secondary See also:education, formulated in 1881, was almost wholly adopted after his See also:death in the Welsh Intermediate Education See also:Act of 1889 . The revival of the See also:Honour-able Cymrodorion Society, the National See also:Eisteddfod Association and the Social See also:Science See also:Section of the National Eisteddfod was due to See also:Owen . He was knighted in recognition of his service to Welsh education in See also:August 1881, but died at See also:Mentone on the 20th of See also:November . A See also:bronze statue was erected at Carnarvon in 1888 by public subscription . |
