PSEUDOPODIUM PSEUDOPOD, the name given to an ex-tension of .the naked protoplasm of certain Protozoa, notably the Sarcodina (q.v.), for crawling or creeping or for the prehension of food, but not for active swimming (see also AMOEBA).
