The King of Prussia Inn is well-known as a historical tavern and is recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. The original tavern was first built in 1719 as a cottage by William and Janet Rees. These were the same Welsh Quakers who founded Reeseville. Fifty years later this cottage was converted into an inn and during colonial times it became a frequent stop for U.S. historical figures en route to Philadelphia on horseback. In 1952, the property was acquired by the State of Pennsylvania, only to sit unattended for 50 years before the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation approved a plan presented by the King of Prussia Chamber of Commerce Valley Forge to have it moved. On the 20th of August, 2000, this historic place became officially relocated and opened for business in October 2002.

Today, the King of Prussia Inn is home to the offices of the King of Prussia, PA Chamber of Commerce and also houses office space for a few local businesses.
