BYTHEWOOD, REGGIEROCK (1965–). Actor, writer, director. Bythwood began his career as a teen actor on the NBC soap opera Another World in the early 1980s. On the big screen, he was featured in The Brother from Another Planet , 1984, and Exterminator 2 , 1984, along with roles in The Beat , 1987, and Vampire’s Kiss , 1988. He segued into writing with a stint on A Different World from 1991–1993, where he met his wife, fellow writer/director Jina Prince Bythewood. National acclaim came after he penned the script for Spike Lee ‘s tribute to the Million Man March, Get on the Bus , 1996. He served as a writer producer on Fox’s cop drama New York Undercover from 1994–1997, and created the NBC action series Players , 1997–1998. His first feature film, Dancing in September , 2001, received much attention at the Sundance Film Festival and was later aired on HBO. Riding high on his many successes, Bythewood wrote and directed the action-packed Biker Boys , 2003.
