FOX, VIVICA A. (1964–). Actress. A native of Indianapolis , Indiana , Fox earned an Associate Art degree in Social Sciences from Golden West College in Huntington Beach , California . Turning to acting, she landed a major television role in the short-lived series Out All Night , with Patti LaBelle and Morris Chestnut. Her guest-starring roles include Living Single, Family Matters, Matlock, Beverly Hills 90210, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air , and China Beach . She was later cast in a starring role for the hospital medical drama City of Angels . Her big break in film came when she portrayed Will Smith ’s exotic dancing girlfriend in Independence Day, 1996. Her other notable films include Set It Off , 1996; Soul Food , 1997; Two Can Play That Game , 2001; and Kill Bill , 2004.
