GLOVER, DANNY (1947–). Actor. The San Francisco native went to San Francisco State University and attended the Black Actors Workshop of the American Conservatory Theater. On stage, he appeared in Macbeth, Island , and Sizwe Banzi is Dead . He relocated to New York and took to the stage in Suicide in B Flat, The Blood Knot , and Master Harold and the Boys , for which he received a Theater World Award. His film credits include Witness , 1985; Places in the Heart , 1985; The Color Purple, 1985; Mandela , 1987; To Sleep With Anger , 1990; and the Lethal Weapon series 1-4 . His television appearances include the popular series Hill Street Blues , the TV miniseries Chiefs, Lonesome Dove , and a TV remake of A Raisin in the Sun .
