LUMBLY, CARL (1952–). Actor. This focused and versatile actor was born in Jamaica , West Indies , and attended McAlester College in St. Paul , Minnesota . He made his film debut as an inmate in Escape From Alcatraz , 1979, and his career has accelerated. He has starred and guest appeared on many television series, including Cagney & Lacey, L. A. Law, EZ Streets, Alias , and portrayed the title role of Dr. Miles Hawkins in the scifi series M. A. N. T. I. S. His notable telepicture and film roles include To Sleep with Anger , 1990; Brother Future , 1991; Nightjohn , 1976; Buffalo Soldiers , 1997; and Little Richard , 2000. He is married to actress Vonetta McGhee.
