MOSLEY, ROGER E. (1938–). Actor. He was born in Los Angeles , California , and is perhaps best known as T. C. Calvin on the TV series Magnum P. I. He began his acting career during the blaxploitation era of the early 1970s in such films as Hit Man , 1972; Sweet Jesus Preacher Man , 1973; The Mack , 1973; and The River Niger , 1976. He was cast in the title role as blues singer Huddie Ledbetter in the biopic Leadbelly , 1976. Other television appearances include the miniseries Roots: The Next Generation , 1979, the telepic I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings , 1979, and the series You Take the Kids, Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper , and Rude Awakening . He portrayed the role of Sgt. James Hammer in the film Hammerlock , 2000.
