Pace, Judy (1950–)
PACE, JUDY (1950–). Actress. Born and raised in Los Angeles , California , Pace graduated from Dorsey High School and was a business major at Los Angeles City College . Once labeled "the most beautiful African American woman in Hollywood ," by the show biz journal Daily Variety , she first appeared on film in 13 Frightened Girls , 1963. Her first lead film role was as Eulice in the sexually controversial film Three in the Attic , 1968, a groundbreaking film told from a feminist point of view. She became a regular on Peyton Place in 1969, for which she received an NAACP Image Award, and starred in the hit movie Cotton Comes to Harlem , the following year. She won a second Image Award when she starred in her own series, The Young Lawyers . Other television work includes Bewitched, Batman, I Spy, The Mod Squad, Sanford and Son, Good Times , and What’s Happening . Her first husband was actor Don Mitchell. She later married St. Louis Cardinal center fielder Curt Flood.
