STEWART, NICK (1910–2000). Actor. Also known as Nicodemus, Stewart was born in New York City, and had a long career in entertainment. He is perhaps best remembered for his role as Lightnin’ in the Amos ‘n’ Andy TV series. Other TV roles included Ramar of the Jungle , and he was the host of the 1950s series Ebony Showcase Presents . For years, he ran the Ebony Showcase Theater in Los Angeles. His film roles include parts in Go West Young Man , 1936; Cabin in the Sky , 1943; and Carmen Jones , 1954.
