WASHINGTON, ISAIAH (1963–). Actor. He was born in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Willowridge High School class of 1981. He plays prominent heart surgeon Preston Burke in the ensemble cast of the television drama Grey’s Anatomy on ABC. He joined the U. S. Air Force before attending Howard University then moved to New York to build his stage career in well known productions like Fences and Skin of Our Teeth . He has since become an accomplished actor with notable roles in Get on the Bus , 1996; Love Jones , 1997; Dancing in September , 2000; and Romeo Must Die , 2000.
