Spring Air Back Supporter Mattress - Don't Be Fooled by Spring Air Back Supporter Mattresses

foam impression comfort don’t

In terms of comfort, the Spring Air back supporter mattress is one of the best. High-tech and eco-friendly, it is an easy sell to many mattress buyers. All that comfort, however, comes at the expense of durability—Spring Air makes some of the most fragile mattresses on the market.

A new Spring Air mattress lives up to its name. Their designs are soft and pliant, the kind of mattress that inspires storefront naps in consumers. From atop its innerspring base, foam wrapped in foam and bound in wool, silk, or even cashmere combine to make a great first impression on any potential customer.

Don’t be fooled. Spring Air may make a great first impression, but it scores consistently low ratings on reviews. Consumer Reports gives it 1.5/5 stars. Sleep Like the Dead—a website completely dedicated to mattresses—gives it a comfort rating of 42%, the lowest of nineteen manufacturers reviewed on their site.

Durability is the main source of Spring Air dissatisfaction. It may be comfortable in the store, but sagging starts to set in within the first few weeks. Within the next few months, ghostly outlines of regular occupants can be seen on its foam. Within a year, the foam starts to come apart at the seams.

Consumer Reports’ “Mattress Guide” suggests that a mattress can last 10 years with conventional use. That the Spring Air brands—the back supporter in particular—wears out within 2 years makes them a terrible investment for any home. This means that going Spring Air brings five times the price and five times the hassle of other popular mattress brands. For the $2,500-$10,000 it will cost over ten years, you can get a top-of-the-line Tempur-Pedic and still have enough left for a nice new set of silk pillows and down comforters.

Don’t be fooled by Spring Air back supporter mattresses. These disingenuous products make bold claims and a good first impression, but they lack the reliability of competing brands.
