Disney Tickets Orlando - Disney World Ticket Options

parks guests park day

Walt Disney World is the most popular vacation destination in the world. Located in Orlando, Florida, almost every family makes a journey to this magical world at least once. Though many people think of Disney as being a “kiddie park”, there is a lot for all ages to enjoy. In total, there are 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, an indoor virtual theme park, 3 golf courses, 2 miniature golf courses, 21 hotels, countless dining and shopping options, and more.

There are four main theme parks. The Magic Kingdom is the park that everyone thinks about when Walt Disney World is mentioned. It features Cinderella Castle as the center point and 6 themed lands – Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. EPCOT stands for the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. It is made up of two sections – Future World, which examines where the innovations of the future will take us, and World Showcase, a tribute to the diverse cultures of the world. Hollywood Studios puts guests in the middle of the glitz and glamor of Hollywood where they are the stars. Animal Kingdom transports guests to exotic lands with up close experiences with animals they won’t see anywhere else. Guests can go on an African safari, an Asian jungle trek, and even travel through time to meet dinosaurs.

To experience all that Walt Disney World has to offer, guests must purchase tickets for Disney World. But with so many options, buying Orlando Disney tickets can be a little confusing at first. This guide breaks down all of the available options and helps you find the best tickets to Disney World for your what your family does and does not want to do.

Magic Your Way Base Ticket
The Magic Your Way base ticket is the standard ticket for Disney World. This ticket is valid for one admission to any of the four theme parks per day purchased on the tickets. These Orlando Disney tickets can be purchased between 1 and 10 days in length. The more days that are purchased on the ticket, the cheaper the price per day becomes. This makes it easier for families to enjoy a longer trip without breaking the bank. While this ticket is only good for one theme park per day, guests may come and go from that park as often as they like that day. This is particularly useful for families with small children that may need an afternoon nap or those who might like a midday break to swim and eat outside of the theme parks. Guests may not use more than one day on a ticket within a single day to visit multiple parks.

Park Hopper Option
For families that like to be on the go, the park hopper option is a great choice. This is an add on to the base Magic Your Way ticket to Disney World and allows guests to “hop” between any or all of the theme parks as often as they like each day. This allows guests to split days between the theme parks, giving them greater flexibility to enjoy meals, shows, and favorite attractions from various parks on the same day. The park hopper option on an Orlando Disney ticket is particularly good for longer trips, where the first few days might be focused on one park, but hopping parks towards the end of the trip to hit all of the favorite attractions and shows one last time.

Water Parks and More Option
Walt Disney World has two water parks on property for guests to enjoy. Typhoon Lagoon features a shipwrecked boat on top of a mountain in a tropical oasis with amazing waves. The story behind Blizzard Beach is that a freak snow storm in central Florida. This “snow” became water slides as it melted in the heat. Similar to the park hopper option, guests can add the water parks and more option to their Magic Your Way Orlando Disney ticket. This is cost effective if the guest wishes to visit the water parks at least twice during their visit. Those that wish to just make one trip to the water parks can purchase a single day water park ticket to Disney World.

Annual Pass
For those that want the experience of Disney 365 days a year, there is the annual pass. This is a year long ticket for Disney World that allows unlimited admission and hopping between the theme parks. The annual pass is a good value for families that can make at least 3 trips to Disney World within a year of first using the pass. Annual passholders receive additional discounts on merchandise, hotels, and food. Florida residents can purchase the Orlando Disney ticket annual pass for a discounted rate.

Premium Annual Pass
The premium annual pass includes all of the benefits of the regular annual pass, but also allows for unlimited admissions to the water parks.
