Buy Computer Notebook - How to Buy a Computer Notebook

battery decide look you’ll

There are several factors to take into consideration when you are in the market to buy a computer notebook, including your budget and how you will be using the computer. Some individuals are loyal to certain brands while others just want the most bang for their buck, regardless of who makes the notebook.

Where you buy the computer notebook isn’t nearly as important as which one you choose. That’s because you’ll still have the manufacturer’s warranty, and in most cases, the opportunity to purchase an extended service plan as well. You can do a lot of research online and you may even opt to purchase the notebook online. First, however, you’ll need to assess your own unique needs.

Decide how much money you want to spend for your laptop. If you’ve looked around at all, you’ve probably already realized that you can buy a computer notebook from around $300 on up to more than a thousand dollars. Like anything else, though, you get what you pay for and so it is important to understand exactly what it is you are looking for in a portable computer.

Once you decide how much computer you can afford, you’ll want to decide how you’re going to be using your new computer. Are you a gamer or do you just want to surf the net and email friends and family? Will you be traveling with your notebook or use it mostly at home? Are you a student? Deciding how you will be using your laptop computer will help you to make the right buying decision as you start to look at the vast assortment.

If you will be taking your computer to school or to work on a regular basis, you will want to take a couple of things into consideration. While performance and memory are always an issue, if you will be walking around with a computer notebook, weight needs to be an issue as well. Individuals who carry their laptops around with them need to pay close attention to how heavy the computer is. If it is too heavy, you’ll soon tire of lugging it around and it will become more of a pain than a pleasure. You can still get all the bells and whistles you want in a lightweight model; however, you will want to specifically look for this feature before you buy a computer notebook.

Battery life is another feature that those on the go will want to consider. Some laptops have a battery life of just 2 hours while others can run off the battery for 4 hours or more. This could become a huge issue if you travel a lot or are otherwise caught in areas where you cannot plug in your computer. You may even want to price spare batteries before you decide which computer to buy just to make sure the battery isn’t too expensive. However, many laptop batteries cost at least $100 so do be prepared if you plan to buy a spare. This is another good reason to ensure you are getting the most possible battery time if you will be on the go very much.

RAM, which stands for random access memory, is another important consideration. Most new notebooks come with at least 2 gb of RAM but depending on the model, you can also get 4 gb. Although 2gb is plenty unless you are running supersonic programs, if you can get 3 or 4, even better.

Some laptops come with integrated webcams, which is nice if you plan to video chat with friends or clients but if you don’t need this feature, you may not want to pay more for a notebook that offers it. If all you need is a basic model, pick out a brand you trust and make sure it has the important features that you want in a computer. Pay attention to how fast the processor is and whether or not it has an integrated wireless card.

While it helps to look around in retail stores when you are in the market to buy a notebook computer, it also helps to look online, especially because the selection is so much greater. In addition, by reading online user reviews, you can get a sense of how other customers feel about the notebooks they have purchased.

Regardless of which computer notebook you decide to buy, spend a few minutes thinking about how you will use your new computer and then make sure the one you choose is able to meet your needs.
