Keller is a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, 14 miles north of the city in Tarrant County. It has a population of 37,685. Keller began when rail service was established between Fort Worth and Texarkana. In 1881, a county pharmacist put out 40 acres of land deeded him in which to build a city he named Athol. In less than a year, several settlers were attracted to the new town and it was renamed Keller, after a popular foreman for the railroad. The ten original streets are still used and bear the same names as when they were constructed. Money Magazine placed Keller in its Top Ten Best Place to Live list in 2009. The median household income of the city is $107,518, more than double that of the rest of Texas.

Homes in these areas are constructed and designed by some of the top names in the industry, including Payton Thomas, Sterling Classic, Drees, and Lexington.

The economy of Keller is still very much based on work available in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. The biggest employers are Lockheed Martin, American Airlines, Texas Instruments, Parkland Health, and the University of North Texas. Keller is experiencing growth in local commercial and industrial businesses, but not enough to carry the city on its own.

Public schooling in Keller is served by the Keller Independent School District. It is nationally recognized for having some of the best schools in the United States. The district also serves neighboring communities and cities. The total enrollment is 30,000 students who attend 21 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 5 intermediate schools, and 5 high schools.
