Oceanfront Santa Cruz motels

Any traveler who just wants to enjoy the beach will definitely have to check out the wide selection of oceanfront motels in Santa Cruz. The Sea and Sand Inn is perfect for romantic getaways, and guests love the fact that every room in this motel has an ocean view. Some suites at the Sand and Sea Inn have private spas, and others have hot tubs on private patios. The Sand and See Inn is also just a short walking distance from the boardwalk.

Another great choice for ocean side Santa Cruz is the Edgewater Beach Motel. It brings the best that both downtown Santa Cruz and the shoreline have to offer. Edgewater Beach sits atop Beach Hill and overlooks the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

Downtown Santa Cruz motels

The motels located in downtown Santa Cruz aren’t quite as busy as the ones along the shoreline, but many of them offer a unique charm you won’t find anywhere else. The Motel Santa Cruz is a smaller motel that offers very basic rooms and services, but the charm of the area is unmistakable.

The traveler who’s looking for a high class hotel in downtown Santa Cruz should consider staying at the Ramada Limited, which is located on Water Street. The hotel is just minutes away from both the boardwalk and the ocean, although the rooms don’t have ocean views. The Ramada is located about a mile and a half from the Lighthouse Point Surfing Museum and two miles from DeLaveaga Park. It’s also very close to the Roaring Camp Railroads and the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf. As far as amenities go, the Ramada has an outdoor swimming pool, high speed internet access, and a business center.

Santa Cruz motels Inland

Once you start getting outside of Santa Cruz a bit, the prices of the motels do start dropping. The Hampton Inn is located on the north side of the city, about two miles from the boardwalk and the wharf. If you don’t mind being away from all the beach action a bit, then the Hampton Inn is a great way to save money. Guests at the Hampton say that the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly, although the location isn’t as great as other hotels in the Santa Cruz area.
