Cuisinart is one of the most popular brands in kitchens today. They have greatly expanded their line of food processors to include kitchen appliances of all sorts. Some of the most popular products include blenders, can openers, mixers, tea kettles, and electric rechargeable salt and pepper mills. One of their best-selling products is in their coffee bar collection – Cuisinart Grind & Brew Coffeemakers.

The beginnings of Cuisinart go back to 1971 when Carl and Shirley Sontheimer witnessed a demonstration of a commercial food preparation machine. Two years later they unveiled their first food processor at a housewares expo in Chicago. Sales were slow at first, but after recruiting the likes of famous chefs and food critics such as Julia Child, James Beard, and Craig Claiborne sales took off. By 1977, they offered over 30 models for sale.

In 1988, the Sontheimers sold company to an investment group who turn around and resell it to the Conair Corporation. In the two decades that followed, the Conair turned the Cuisinart name into a juggernaut in the home kitchen appliances market.

Today, Cuisinart makes appliances of all types for the kitchen. The company prides itself on innovation and has won awards that include the Green Good Design Award and the Shape You Top Gear of the Year Award.
