Boca Raton vacationers can choose from three beaches all accessible from A1A—Reef Park, Spanish River Park, and South Beach. Beaches are open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with lifeguards usually on duty from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm. Both Reef Park (1400 N) is a popular snorkeling destination and Spanish River Park (3001 N) are equipped with grills and picnic tables to promote picnicking. Three public golf courses—Boca Raton Municipal, Red Reef Executive, and Southwinds County—provide an outlet for this popular sport. Boca Raton Municipal offers a good middle-ground, with one 18-hole and one 9-hole range as well as driving ranges, putting greens, clubhouse, and other amenities.

Younger visitors on a Boca Raton vacation will appreciate the Gumbo Limbo Environmental Education Center, a spectacle of biology equipped with sea turtles, butterfly gardens, and numerous exhibits on natural history. Young scientists can continue their adventure by catching a boat to the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Range, which allows for boating, camping, hiking, and wildlife watching—some tours will even take you to see live gators.

Boca Raton receives a steady supply of concerts and art shows for the Renaissance tourist. Several resources exist to help find these venues, ranging from the entertainment section in Boca Magazine to the classical concerts played regularly by the Boca Raton Symphonia.

Many art shows will be held at Mizner Park, an upscale mall that houses the Mizner Park Centre for the Arts and the Boca Raton Museum of Art. Mizner also features a wide array of upscale dining, including the Soba Sushi Caviar Lounge, Truluck’s Seafood Steak and Crab House, and the Villagio Italian Eatery.

Boca Raton vacations can center around some of the area’s major cultural events, such as the Wine & All That Jazz festival that takes place in late August. One of the largest wine tastings in Florida, this major event costs $50 to attend and brings in over a hundred wines, gourmet food, and live jazz all night.

Distant visitors to Boca Raton will most likely arrive at Palm Beach International or Fort Lauderdale International, which sit 20 miles north and south respectively. From there, guests can travel by Amtrak, car, or ship to their final destination. Once there, the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce provides an excellent map to help guide visitors, equipped with a full, easily searchable list of every business in the area.

Boca Raton vacationers have many options for lodging, the most well-known being the Boca Resort and Spa, which features the tallest building in Boca and its own golf course. Close to the action is the resort-style Boca Raton Bridge Hotel, while other options include Embassy Suites, Renaissance Boca, TownePlace Suites, Hilton Suites, and others.
