Whistler Canada Hotels - The Hotels of Whistler, Canada

ski village suites resort

Whistler is a ski resort town in the Coast Mountains of the Pacific Ocean province of British Columbia, Canada. The town is 76 miles (125 km) along Highway 99 north from Vancouver, British Columbia, the largest major city in this region of Canada.

Until the mid-60s, there was no town of Whistler, no Highway 99, no hotels, and no electricity, water, or sewage facilities. Four business men from Vancouver, intending to put in a bid for the 1968 Winter Olympics, investigated the area and created plans for a ski resort. The ski resort, Whistler Mountain, opened in 1966 — but the 1968 Winter Olympics were held in Grenoble, France. The Winter Olympics finally came to Whistler in 2010.

Because the chief reason for the development of the town of Whistler from scratch was for the town to be a tourist destination, the hotels of Whistler, Canada, have always been unrivaled in amenities and service, not to mention having the added bonus of spectacular scenery. Anyone from a traveler on a budget to the richest man alive can find a hotel suited for their needs. All Whistler hotels, like any true international destination, have 24-hour check-in, and a plethora of recreation, dining, and room configuration options. Hotels in Whistler, Canada, can be classified in one of three categories: Moderate, Deluxe, and Luxury.

The moderate hotels in Whistler, Canada, are all located in the Village at the base of the ski area, and have accommodations ranging from single rooms to full suites with kitchens.

The Executive Inn at Whistler Village is a small intimate hotel in the European-style, right next-door to the resort’s après ski lounges, nightspots and luxury shops. The ground floor contains the restaurant, Il Caminetto, with celebrity chef Umberto Menghi, who continues to supply gourmet meals day and night.

The Summit Lodge and Spa is a full-service Whistler hotel with eighty-one suites, all with kitchenettes, balconies, and fireplaces. The hotel has a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, a complimentary wine reception twice a week, and the luxurious Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa. Also in the hotel you can find the Elements Urban Tapas Restaurant.

The Tantalus Resort Lodge is a Whistler hotel of large suites with full kitchens. The theme is “a lodge for relaxing” — you can sit by the fireplace in the lobby, or de-stress in the outdoor heated pool and hot tub.

The Deluxe hotels in Whistler, Canada, offer the same breadth of services, but are much more family-friendly, and feature easy access to the famous restaurants and clubs of Whistler Village.

The Crystal Lodge spans the village-long stroll from Mountain Square to Village Square. There’s easy access to restaurants, coffee shops, lounges, and stores.

The Delta Whistler Village Suites are only steps away from the nightlife, shops, and restaurants. All the rooms are suites, and the hotel is pet-friendly! The theme for this Whistler hotel is “Alpine Accommodation.”

Legends is right next to the Creekside Express Gondola of the Whistler Mountain ski area – you can be at the peak within minutes after leaving the hotel. The Legends hotel is different, with a mellow ambiance, bold colors, and accents of stylish design.

The Luxury range of hotels in Whistler, Canada, give the ultimate hotel experience: attentive service, knowledgeable concierges, luxurious amenities, fun-filled lounges, gourmet dining, spas, valet parking, and full-service laundry.

The Four Seasons Hotel is Canada’s only AAA 5-Diamond hotel — with the highest hospitality standards, this Whistler hotel wants to give you the perfect travel experience. The Four Season hotel has 273 modern/rustic rooms and suites; guests can enjoy spa relaxation, mountainside dining, daily wine receptions, weekly outdoor BBQs, and live local music.

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler hotel, at the base of Blackcomb Mountain on the far side of the Whistler Mountain ski resort, offers outstanding cuisine, impeccable service, and luxurious accommodations. Families are welcome, with special dining and recreation programs for children.

The Westin Resort & Spa, right next to the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain gondolas in the Village, is a Whistler hotel of Canada consisting only of residential suites.
