Hyannis is the largest and most popular of the seven villages that make up the town of Barnstable of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Through its history, Hyannis has been known for its port, and it is to this day the hub of transportation and commercial activity for the entire cape. Hyannis was made popular by President John F. Kennedy, who had spent a lot of time in the village. One of the most popular attractions is in the village continues to be the JFK Hyannis Museum, located in Old Town Hall. Another memorial to the President is on the waterfront. This Hyannis bed & breakfast inn is the only one of its kind on the popular Ocean Street. The proprietors once ran the Sea Breeze Inn, but wanted something a little more romantic, so they opened this inn in 2002. It offers great views of the quiet, protected marsh and the cape waters. It is located just across the street from Veterans Beach. Visitors stay at A Cape Cod Ocean Manor to enjoy fishing, sailing, sunbathing, and shopping. The inn features an oversized deck with tables and chaise lounges. Each of the six rooms have king beds, cable TV, refrigerators, air conditioning, wireless internet, private bathrooms, and balconies. Nightly rates start at $85 and reservations are strongly recommended.

The SeaCoast Inn is located in downtown Hyannis, so guests are near to the harbor, shops, and restaurants. The inn is simple and far from extravagant, but extremely comfortable and relaxing. The SeaCoast was the recipient of the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award in 2010. The hotel features free high-speed wireless internet and free continental breakfast. Guests receive discounts for nearby restaurants and for the ferries. Single and double rooms are available. Nightly rates start at $78 in the spring and fall and $118 in the summer.

Hyannis Travel Inn

This is the only Hyannis, Massachusetts hotel in the top three that is a large-scale hotel. The Hyannis Travel Inn has 83 rooms and is located in the heart of the village, nearby to dining, shopping, golf, and many of the village’s attractions. Although the hotel is large, it is family-run and just as friendly as the smaller hotels. Features include free Wi-Fi, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, whirlpool, and a complimentary breakfast served each morning in the pool area. Room amenities include refrigerators, individual heat and a/c control, and cable TV. Nightly rates start at $69.95 and if you stay two nights, you receive a third night free. If you can’t stay three nights, you can use the free night at a later date.
