available compactflash class data

When you are buying a new digital camera or digital video camera, the memory cards you purchase alongside it seem a trivial matter, but your choice can make a big difference. Memory cards are the key to recording and saving your data. Faulty or badly manufactured memory cards can cause numerous problems, including breakage, loss of data, or corrupt data. When using memory cards for video capture, the speed of the card is very important in recording the complex data at the highest possible quality. Kingston memory cards operate at this high standard of quality and can always be trusted in your digital recording equipment.

Kingston Technology was founded by Taiwanese immigrants John Tu and David Sun in Fountain Valley, California in 1987. By 1992, they were ranked the fastest-growing private company in the United States, and in 1995 they reached sales of over $1 billion. Today, Kingston memory cards are world renowned and the company is ranked #77 on the list of largest private companies in America with revenues of over $4 billion annually. Kingston has also been ranked the top third-party manufacturer of memory cards for six years running.

Kingston memory cards are made in a variety of types, classes, and capacities. The two basic types of Kingston memory cards are the SD format and its newer counterparts, and CompactFlash for digital SLR cameras.

SD Card – This is the basic memory card in what continues to be the most popular type. The Secure Digital format is offered with a top capacity of 2GB, and they have fast data transfer speed. This card is available in single and twin packs for as little as $6.16 and $11.49, respectively. This card is also available in microSD format with SD and miniSD adapters.

SDHCSDHC cards are a high-performance, high-capacity version of standard SD cards. Kingston memory cards in the SDHC format are available in full-size and microSD. There are four models available:

  • Class 4 – Class 4 spec cards are the standard SDHC cards. They support capacities of 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB at rates of 4MB/sec.
  • Video Card – These cards actually have the same technological standards of the class 4 card, but they are marketed for use in video devices. The label on the card includes a white space for that can be written on.
  • Class 6 – The class 6 Kingston memory cards are available in 8 through 32GB capacities, but have a data transfer rate of 6MB/sec. This increased speed makes them a good choice when quality is demanded.
  • Class 10 – Class 10 cards are the highest-quality of Kingston SDHC cards. They are made for professional use and high-speed, in-sequence photography.

SDXC – The SDXC format is the newest standard of SD cards. They offer higher performance and capacity than SDHC. They are available in two versions:

  • Class 6 – This card has a capacity of 64GB and a data rate of 6MB/sec.
  • Class 10 – This card also has a capacity of 64Gb, but the data rate increases to 10MB/sec.

CompactFlash – CompactFlash is a common memory card format for cameras, PDAs, and MP3 players. They have a durable design and low power consumption. Kingston memory cards in the CompactFlash format are available in four models:

  • CompactFlash – This is the standard CompactFlash card offered by Kingston. It is available in 4GB and 8GB capacities.
