Playa Del Carmen Resorts

offers inclusive spa choice

Who wouldn’t love a vacation at a Playa del Carmen resort? Playa del Carmen, or “Playa,” is just a short trip from Cancún, Tulum, Cozumel, and other attractions. The coastal city offers a more relaxed tourist experience than the big city rush of Cancún. Playa is the third largest city in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo and the city is filled with boutiques, gorgeous cities, a variety of restaurants, and beautiful resorts.

Generally, the best hotels in Playa del Carmen are not the ones located directly on the beach, but rather a few blocks back. These hotels are still just a short walk from the beach and are usually quieter. The Banyan Tree Mayakoba was a Travelers’ Choice 2010 Winner for the categories of Best Service, Romance, and Relaxation and Spa. The modern Playa del Carmen resort, with its privacy and stunning vistas, is especially recommended for honeymooners. The hotel has private freestanding villas as well as three-bedroom townhouses. Relax at the Banyan Tree Spa, which offers a variety of treatments and packages, or spend time in The Rainforest, a uniquely decorated spa room that offers a “hydrothermal experience.” Prices range from $561 – $1,114.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun Resort was also a Playa del Carmen resort Travelers’ Choice 2010 Winner for Romance. Catch a ferry to nearby Cozumel. Ask the concierge for bus trip options; many Playa del Carmen resorts offer bus trips to local attractions. Several are even included in all-inclusive packages.
