Acne Care Product - Using an Acne Care Product Is Only the Beginning of Managing and Beating Acne

Acne is a skin condition that affects millions of people around the world. It discriminates neither on color, ethnicity or background; plaguing almost every teenager on the planet. For most of these, the condition only lasts as long as their pubescent years. But for many others it persists well into their adult years. Acne may affect any part of the body, but it mostly affects the face, neck and back. There are also different types of acne that range from mild pubescent acne to chronic adolescent acne. The common denominator nevertheless is simply that it is a condition that many would like to see cured.

Perhaps the most difficult type of acne to treat is cystic acne. Cystic acne is by definition a repository of fluid or nodular abscess deep within the skin. This exhibits as inflamed bumps on the skin. Treating cystic acne should be a matter approached with caution due to the deep-seated nature of the cysts. It must therefore be cautioned that attempting to ‘pop’ the zit or pimple will not work and may result in the spread of the acne. Cystic acne has long been associated with other underlying health issues such as diet, stress levels, and toxicity levels and so on. With this in mind, treatment of cystic acne must be approached with a broad spectrum analysis of one’s health and wellbeing.

This should be followed by a long term approach towards the acne. Long term treatment not only involves various acne care products but also lifestyle change. In the case of cystic acne, a long term treatment approach is best suited in order to handle the underlying issues. Lifestyle trends tend to affect the health of the skin more than most realize. Over exposure to the sun without sunscreen, exposure to chemical compounds without protective clothing, smoking, excessive intake of sugars are but a few examples of the lifestyle habits that contribute to acne. Using an acne product may deal with the symptoms, but having a holistic lifestyle change is what may very well resolve the root cause.

Short term acne treatments also exist and these are used to treat less serious, more superficial acne cases. There are various instances where one would need to get rid of acne or at least mitigate its visible effects either in a few days or even overnight. Here is one tried and tested method of doing this. Overnight treatment of acne involves the use of some rather easily available acne care products such as lemon juice and toothpaste. Other items that may be of use are vinegar (in place of lemon) and alcohol. Wash the affected area thoroughly but gently with mild soap. Rinse off with water. Apply the toothpaste to the affected areas. Leave on for a while. Rinse off with water and apply either the lemon juice or vinegar. This should be gently rubbed in. After this, apply some alcohol to the area. The final step in this overnight remedy is to clear one’s mind and get a good night’s sleep.

Nevertheless, acne does not simply disappear without a trace; it tends to leave behind some reminders in the form of acne scars. There is nothing quite like having to deal with acne and also clean up after it. The good news is that there are a number of ways acne scars may be diminished. One option is derma-abrasion in which the dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon uses an abrasive acne care product to buff-off the dead top skin. This process slowly removes the scared skin and exposes the new skin beneath. This may also be performed at home but over a longer period. Laser treatment or resurfacing is another method of removing acne scars. This is a more technical process and has to be carried out by a trained professional.

Acne may be a bothersome condition but it is like all other health issues but a symptom of other underlying issues. Much as using the appropriate acne care product regimen may do wonders in the short term, the ultimate treatment should involve thorough investigation into any underlying issues that may be triggering the acne attack and dealing with these for lasting relief from acne.
