Boerne Texas Real Estate

home homes lakes land

Boerne is a town that was founded by German immigrants. It still retains some of its old world charm in a setting that is thoroughly Texan, with rolling tree enhanced landscapes and gracious Texas style homes. It is sometimes referred to as the “Gateway to the Hills”, or the Hill Country area north of San Antonio. Less than thirty miles northwest of San Antonio, there are many parcels of land in the area for less than $30,000 with full utilities and proximity to local lakes.

If it is an existing home you are looking for, there are many neighborhoods offering spacious homes with the best of appliances, yard space, and amenities such as fireplaces or pools. Downtown homes and condos offer convenient shopping and local attractions such as museums, art galleries, and businesses. The area offers fine dining, golfing, and an abundance of hiking and horse trails. Water sports and fishing can be enjoyed at the many nearby lakes and rivers. Saloons and steak houses offer the best beef and Texas beers. There are boot shops and western apparel shops offering Texan fashion styles.

Home prices run the gamut from below $100,000 to millions. Currently available properties range from the Double Diamond Ranch at a price of $10 million, offering 11,000 sq. ft. of home with 6 bedrooms and over 180 acres of land with stocked lakes to a building lot with access to the Guadalupe River for $31,000. A good example of home value is a recently listed 4 bedroom, with over 2700 sq. ft. for just $210,000. Boerne is a great retirement haven, and was listed as #48 on the Money Magazine 100 Best Places to Retire. In short, Boerne offers great real estate value, cultural richness, landscape beauty, shopping, and leisure activities on both water and land.
