LOKOJA, a town of Nigeria, at the junction of the Niger and Benue rivers, founded in 186o by the British consul, W. B. Baikie, and subsequently the military centre of the Royal Niger Company. It is in the province of Kabba, 250 M. from the mouth of the Niger, and is of considerable commercial importance (see NIGERIA and KABBA).
