WARORA, a town of British India, in Chanda district of the Central Provinces, on a branch of the Great Indian Peninsula railway. Pop. (1901) 10,626. Warora gives its name to a coalfield, which was worked by the government from 1871 to 1go6; a fire-clay industry under the same management also raised fire-clay for bricks and tiles. The ginning and pressing of cotton is an important industry.
